Anytime that you're paddling on The Thames (should I have capitalised the 'T' in 'The'?) -; particularly the tidal Thames - yeah it gets better! - then we can seriously recommend rocking up to The Ship (Inn) in a kayak, open canoe, a SUP board etc etc. There's a slipway just seconds away from the bar, and they're not particularly sniffy if you're hauling paddles and bouyancy aids with you as you walk in - The London Apprentice could learn a lesson or two here! Great selection of beers, toilets aren't awful, staff are *really* great, and I expect the food is too - I actually can't remember the last time we ate here, but I do Greene King tend to keep on top of these things - not sure about the Vegetarian/Vegan options, perhaps someone can elaborate? Shall return.

Fine. No ales available. Staff friendly, did an OK job. Courtyard could do with being cleaned up a bit. Food was pretty good really, and a reasonable price. A bit disappointing given the location by the river - it could be amazing. If you're willing to pay an extra ten or twenty percent you could go somewhere nearby that's much better.

Before writing this review I tried to contact privately by email the manager of the pub but no reply. On Monday Bank Holiday, the pub was not busy at all, we ordered 3 meals which two of them were very basic food (not high quality). However, the third lunch, which was mushroom pie, was absolutely disgusting. To start it was a precooked lunch, heavy pastry, completely liquid inside with 2 tiny pieces of mushrooms floating in the brown liquid! The waitress then told me that it was a precooked frozen pie and she added that she would have informed the kitchen and the manager. No one came to talk to us and I had only the chips on the side. I would at least have expected not to pay a full price as the lunch was returned to the kitchen.
