The Boaters Inn
The Boaters Inn is situated on the Thames in the beautiful Canbury Gardens, just a ten minute walk from central Kingston. We feature a riverside beer garden that also backs directly onto the park and a quiet sunset balcony. The interior is a mix of classic and contemporary with a 65 seat riverside raised dining area opposite the bar and a smaller dining space by the back garden. We’ve always been known for serving interesting ales and as such we are CAMRA certified and have an ever-changing selection of real ale from local and national microbreweries; all interesting and sometimes obscure. We’re also a local hub for food and have a seasonally changing menu for lunch and dinner, a comprehensive bar snacks menu as well as a full Sunday roast offering. During the summer we also offer a full BBQ menu from the garden kitchen. The Boaters Inn is a very family friendly establishment and offer games, colouring books, crayons and a children’s menu for the little ones. As well, we are a dog friendly business so please feel free to bring the pets along for a bowl of water.

Me and my partner have nothing but good things to say about this venue. We enjoyed all of our vegetarian dishes, the vegan burger and chips was better than any vegan burger I've had before and my partner's vegetarian Wellington was lovely. The staff are friendly and attentive and made the experience enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back here for dinner along the river, a truly fantastic place to eat. Very reasonably priced for the standard of food and service.

Update: I left a 3 start review because of the below experience. The team got in touch and invited us back. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and couldnt do enough. Would definitely recommend the food and the setting is beautiful (just bring some mosquito repellent!) thank you again! This is going to be a regular of ours! We booked for a roast and sat outside which is lovely but found the service to be lacking. The staff were very friendly throughout but we waited 20 minutes before someone came to us with menus. I asked if anything was missing as Sundays its usually always the case and was told no. I checked again as I was surprised no roasts were missing and then was told they thought there was no chicken or pork. We were then told there may be some chicken and the server went and checked confirming upon return that there was 2. We were also told we needed to order quickly as the kitchen was closing at 8. We booked for 7:30 but didnt get served until 7:50 and werent aware the kitchen was closing. We ordered our meals and then another server returned saying there was no chicken, then he came back and said there was 1. The roasts arrived but the other meal for our 3rd guest hadnt. We waited a bit while his meal turned up but our side dish didnt turn up either. We told the server and they mentioned theyd check. After 15 minutes I went and spoke to our server and she admitted it was her fault they hadnt arrived and that the kitchen was closed. I asked if that meant we werent getting them and she said shed check. We were grateful when she arrived with the side dish we ordered. The meal wasnt bad in general, but the gravy was incredibly salty and congealed and the chicken dry. The service was left on our bill despite being told by our earlier server it would be removed, so we felt a little awkward having to tell our new server that we werent happy to pay it. We would return to the boaters inn as the setting is lovely and I think the food issues were likely a one off. We understand its a hard job and especially in this current climate.
